Abstract

The image of Ulysses infiltrates Romanian literature. In the space of the Republic of Moldova, this image camouflages many aspects. This theme is identified in the poems of Ion Vatamanu, Leo Butnaru, Valeriu Matei, Galina Furdui, Tudor Palladi, Andrei Ţurcanu. Ion Hadârcă"s lyrical creation combines the motifs of ancient images. Creative imagination offers unique connections to Odysseus, an alloy of the character of Homer and Joyce. The image of the Greek hero insists in several poem titles and even in a book title. The texts that are directly anchored to this subject are: Ulyssemne (I), Ulyssemne (II), Ulyssemne (III), Ithaca - galactic terminal, Apud Joyce: Uliseism, etc. The Romanian poet empathizes with the signs of Ulysses" destiny, projecting them into his own existence in this poetic cycle.
