TRANSFORMANDO ESPAÇO EM LUGAR: A EXPERIÊNCIA DO GRUPO DE ESTUDOS SOBRE DOCÊNCIA NO ENSINO SUPERIOR

This article reports on the experience of the Group of Studies on Teaching in Higher Education (GEDES), one of the continuing education initiatives for teachers developed by the pedagogical advisory of the Federal University of Espírito Santo, Alegre campus. This study, which has a qualitative approach in education, starts with the following question: do the continuing education actions of GEDES contribute to the professional development of teachers and the quality of education? The aim is to understand the perception of the participating teachers about the possible benefits that the group provides for their pedagogical practice and professional growth. The results showed that GEDES has facilitated the exchange of experiences, listening, study, discussion, and theoretical-methodological deepening in university pedagogy, characterizing itself as a learning community, transforming the space into a place for the continuing education of these teachers. It is concluded that this training action has contributed to reflection on professional performance and to the strengthening of innovative practices.
