ENTRE LAUDOS E LEIS: DESAFIOS ENFRENTADOS PELOS JOVENS COM DEFICIÊNCIA PARA O ACESSO À EDUCAÇÃO SUPERIOR
Abstract
This article analyzes the experiences of young people in disability assessment panels, carried out in selection processes for admission to undergraduate courses at federal universities via reserved quota. This is an exploratory qualitative study with five participants who underwent these assessments. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis. The results indicate two main trends: when the disability does not present clear physical signs, the process tends to be more stressful, focused on biomedical and behavioral assessments, reinforcing a medicalizing view; on the other hand, evident sensory or physical disabilities are recognized more fluidly, although they still depend on the sensitivity of the assessors. It is concluded that the lack of standardized protocols and adequate interprofessional training compromises the effectiveness of biopsychosocial assessment, making access to higher education less equitable and weakening the right to inclusion.
