FORMAÇÃO PEDAGÓGICA CONTINUADA PARA DOCENTES DO ENSINO SUPERIOR: UM PANORAMA DE 5 UNIVERSIDADES

This research aims to map and compare institutional policies for the continuing pedagogical education of higher education faculty members at different universities. The topic arises from the authors' findings, based on previous research, that inadequate pedagogical choices made by university professors a determining factor in the exclusion of students at this level of education. Therefore, continuing education in university pedagogy is identified as an essential institutional policy for higher education institutions. The qualitative methodology involved document analysis of institutional websites and interviews with administrators from five different universities, both Brazilian and international. The results revealed similarities and differences in the continuing education practices at these institutions, as well as gaps that still need to be addressed to ensure high-quality continuing education for higher education faculty. Finally, the article suggests directions for future research.
