APOIO E ORIENTAÇÃO PEDAGÓGICA COMO POLÍTICA DE PERMANÊNCIA E AFILIAÇÃO INSTITUCIONAL NO ENSINO SUPERIOR
Abstract
This article addresses the importance of pedagogical support and guidance services as institutional policies in higher education, considering them fundamental resources for promoting equity and retention for all student profiles. The objectives are to inform, in a well-founded manner, the debate on this topic and to present the Institutional Program for Pedagogical Support for Students (PIAPE), which has existed at the Federal University of Santa Catarina for 13 years. This research is qualitative, applied, and descriptive in nature, developed through bibliographical and documentary research, and a case study. Methodologically, after contextualization and conceptualization, data on the program and its implementation and organization are presented, as well as the actions and results achieved. We conclude by arguing that it is the duty of universities to offer tools to foster academic and institutional affiliation among students, fostering a culture of acceptance and learning that recognizes diversity, potential, and academic difficulties as opportunities to rethink structures and epistemologies.
