As researchers we stand on the shoulders of other researchers. That means, we build on the evidence and work others have generated. It is vital for researchers to be able to trust that what they build upon. We have seen many studies that show that this is not a given. Whether in medicine, in education sciences, or economics - pretty much all the fields struggle with reproducibility and replication to a degree that is scary.
