Abstract

This study describes the research conducted in 2022 within the framework of the DOMUS group research program, based on the program’s summary report. As part of this exploratory program, we examined the role of tourism businesses in Szeklerland in shaping the regional identity structure, identifying which elements of regional identity they utilize and how they do so. The analysis focused on the operational and communication practices of these businesses, drawing on fieldwork, interviews, and personal observation. A total of 30 tourism stakeholders were interviewed; the respondents were operators of sole proprietorships or small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
