Abstract

Centuries pass, but the essence remains unchanged: a human without nature is like a lighthouse without light. Our cells are woven with millennia-old imprints of our ancestors, who lived in harmony with nature. Physical activity is of vital importance, and cross-country skiing, or Nordic skiing, is one of the rare sports that engages approximately 80% of the body's muscles, making it an exceptionally comprehensive activity. It originated as a necessity for survival during harsh, snowy winters and has evolved into an Olympic discipline. It represents the ultimate synthesis: humans and nature, activity and adventure. Cross-country skiing allows for direct contact with pristine nature and opens up mountain landscapes that would otherwise remain inaccessible. It provides a unique sense of freedom and fulfillment. Numerous studies have shown its positive effects on psychological health, promoting both physical and mental well-being. Moreover, it fosters awareness of the importance of preserving natural resources. It Is important to highlight that cross-country skiing does not require expensive ski lifts or other infrastructure-one only needs skis, poles, and goodwill. Cross-country skiing serves as a significant way to reconnect with nature, combining physical activity with direct interaction with the natural environment. By learning about the beauty of nature, people become more aware of its significance and are motivated to protect it. We encourage everyone to actively promote cross-country skiing and support initiatives for nature conservation. By preserving nature, we ensure that future generations can enjoy the same experiences and benefits it provides. Let us invest in our planet and our health, for life continues beyond us.
