Abstract

Agujero. Lenguaje. Schweblin. Abstract: One of the challenges facing contemporary fantastic narratives is depicting the incongruity of the postmodern concept of reality. To narrate the gaps in the postmodern episteme, the fantastic often employs disturbing linguistic mechanisms, grounding itself in the realm of language. Fantastic transgression is no longer solely triggered by perceptive events; it also emerges from linguistic resources, as seen in Samanta Schweblin’s short story “Agujeros negros”. In this story, the hole allows for a polyphonic display of semantic, syntactic, and discursive dissonances designed to question the reader's perception of reality. This article will therefore explore the various linguistic ruptures that enhance the fantastic and reflect the worldview of an era where reality is a concept as unattainable as it is threatening. Keywords: Fantastic. Irony. Hole. Language. Schweblin.
