Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of traditional human-led interviews and chatbot-based interviews in eliciting user requirements for software development. Through a comprehensive literature review and comparative framework, the study identifies significant differences in efficiency, scalability, interaction quality, data accuracy, and ethical considerations. Chatbots demonstrate advantages in scalability, cost reduction, and data consistency, while traditional interviews remain superior in terms of flexibility, depth, and contextual understanding. The research proposes a hybrid model that integrates human and AI-based approaches to achieve optimal results in modern systems analysis. Although empirical validation was not possible due to a shortage of practitioners using chatbot-based requirements elicitation, this study provides a structured foundation for future research exploring the integration of interactive AI in requirements engineering.
