Abstract

Land fertility issues in agricultural areas are critical and require rehabilitation efforts to maintain soil fertility. Given the large proportion of Indonesians who work as farmers, agricultural land fertility is crucial. Land management is typically carried out traditionally, and fertilizer application is often inefficient due to water runoff. This community service activity aims to provide training for evangelical teachers on how to create a soil-catalyst solution using biochar to address critical soil issues. The activity began with an explanation of the benefits of the catalyst solution for improving land fertility, followed by practical demonstrations of its preparation. A total of 30 people participated in the biochar production counseling and useful session. During the counseling session, participants received an explanation of the definition of a catalyst solution, the role of biochar, and the method for making it. The participants' enthusiasm was high, as evidenced by the numerous questions asked. Following the counseling, the activity continued with a practical session on making a biochar-based catalyst solution. Participants demonstrated extraordinary enthusiasm during this practical session, as evidenced by their active involvement in the solution preparation process under the guidance of the community service leader and by the satisfaction survey results, which recorded a rating of "Good." Overall, the activity ran smoothly.
