Interactive geologic map of northeastern Montana

Geologic maps of 30’ x 60’ quadrangles (1:100,000 scale) in northeastern Montana previously published by the Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology were bedrock-emphasis maps that did not show glacial cover and other surficial deposits. The purpose of DM2 is to provide a 1:100,000-scale digital geologic map database of northeastern Montana that includes the extensive surficial deposits in addition to the exposed bedrock. The map was compiled primarily using available MBMG and USGS geologic maps of the area, and parent material indicated on USDA soils maps.
