Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to determine the current level of Internet financial reporting (IFR) in publicly traded businesses on the Ace Market of Bursa Malaysia. The IFR level will be calculated by utilizing two dimensions: content and presentation. The content dimension describes the types of information available on the company's website. The presentation dimension, on the other hand, illustrates how the firm leverages cutting-edge technologies and web design to display financial reports and corporate information. The study employed a checklist with a dichotomous approach to evaluate the items shown in the company's website's content and presentation dimension, with a score of 0 for no reported index and a score of 1 for stated index. According to the data, there is an incremental increase in the present IFR level when compared to earlier research. The IFR level ranged from 58.06 to 89.03 percent. The level of IFR of publicly traded companies on the Bursa Malaysia was deemed satisfactory. Furthermore, most businesses adopted the Portable Document Format (PDF) to present their financial statements. The research also has limitations due to the limited number of studies undertaken in Malaysia. The researcher proposed that future researchers quantify the IFR level utilizing various aspects such as content, timeliness, technological advancement, and user support. This is due to the fact that a little attention of research has been done on the IFR level making use of the dimension.
