Abstract

Data values represent estimates of population prevalence rates for behaviors and activities associated with caregiving by older adults. Sample size and low and high values of the confidence interval are also provided. Data are available at national, regional, and state level. Prevalence rates are presented by response to survey question, and, when available, by sociodemographic categories (gender, age group, and race/ethnicity). In 2019, the question, "Provide care for someone with cognitive impairment within the past month" was noted to be incomparable with data from prior years for the following states due to the way the survey question was worded: Hawaii, Maryland, Maine, New York, Oregon, Ohio, Texas, Tennessee, Utah, and Virginia.
