Vector Mechanics of Structures Using Python
Abstract
This work presents a comprehensive introduction to vector-based structural analysis and computational modeling, with an emphasis on physical consistency, clarity of formulation, and transparency of numerical implementation. The book systematically develops the underlying mechanics from a particle-based and vector-form perspective, avoiding unnecessary variational abstraction and focusing instead on Newtonian principles and intrinsic kinematic descriptions. The accompanying Python programs (DOI:10.6084/m9.figshare.30983770) implement the methods discussed in the text and are intended to support education, research, and independent verification. The codes are written with readability and conceptual correspondence to the theoretical formulations in mind, enabling readers to directly connect governing equations, algorithmic procedures, and numerical results. The book is distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).
