Abstract

Code and data for the paper: MAPLID: A new multi-label approach for place identification using data supplied by mobile network operators, Mendoza-Hurtado, M., Romero-del-Castillo, J.A., & Ortiz-Boyer, D. International Journal of Geographical Information Science (2026) MAPLID is a supervised multi-label classification framework that assigns multiple functional labels (home, work, density levels) to grid cells using Call Detail Records (CDRs) from mobile network operators. Unlike traditional single-label approaches, MAPLID captures the inherent functional mix of urban spaces. Please revise the README.md for a detailed guide on how to use the code. A PDF guide for the software "herramienta-multilabel" is also provided.
