Abstract

This presentation contains 9 slides. The first two slides are refreshers on the position of the kidneys within the abdomen. Both kidneys are in the retroperitoneum, dorsally in the abdomen. The left kidney is dorsal to the descending part of the colon, medial to the spleen, and caudal to the stomach and left pancreatic lobe. The right kidney is dorsomedial to the descending part of the duodenum, and caudal to the caudate process of the caudate lobe of the liver. The position of the kidneys is then illustrated on ultrasonographic still images and videos.
