Abstract

Figure 2. SiO2 versus total alkali compositions in the Auckland Volcanic Field. Average groundmass glass compositions (hollow symbols and colourless ✕ in purple square) and post-entrapment crystallisation and Fe-loss corrected MI compositions (filled, coloured symbols) from each past eruption in this study are overlain on bulk rock data (gray shaded region; from Hopkins et al. 2017) and data for individual glass shards and bulk rock compositions of glass shards in AVF tephra (yellow shaded region; from Hopkins et al. 2017) for the AVF. The ranges of MI and groundmass glass compositions are indicated by solid and dashed bars, respectively.Figure 2 in the journal article entitled, Estimating Eruptive Volatile Emissions and Fluxes in the Auckland Volcanic Field, Aotearoa New Zealand, accepted to the Journal of Applied Volcanology. Part of Elaine Smid's PhD thesis at the University of Auckland.
