Abstract
Figure 3. Example of AVF CO2 (dashed red line) and S (solid orange line) open-system degassing curves. These EVo-produced results are based on Rangitoto - Motutapu Is. geochemical data. Fraction of initial CO2 and S concentration left in the melt is shown at each pressure step (with approximate depths on secondary y-axis, based on a 0.037 km/MPa geostatic gradient). The bottom of the crust under Auckland is at 27.5 ± 2.5 km.Figure 3 in the journal article entitled, Estimating Eruptive Volatile Emissions and Fluxes in the Auckland Volcanic Field, Aotearoa New Zealand, submitted to the Journal of Applied Volcanology.
