Abstract

This repository encompasses the replication package and additional data of the paper 'Reasoned or Rapid Code? Unveiling the Strengths and Limits of DeepSeek for Solidity Development' submitted for review to 'Information Sciences and Software Technology'. If the paper gets accepted for publication, the repository will be unlocked and data made publicly available. The repository encompasses:All the smart contracts generated by Deepseek's V3 and R1 models. The contracts generated with Claude Opus 4 and GPT-4-oTables with normalized data summarizing our findings.Gas consumption comparison with Openzeppelin's benchmark.Javascript tests to evaluate semantic correctness and gas optimization. All the prompts used for application-specific, token contracts and vulnerability detection experimental sessions.Diagrams outlining the specific prompting workflow for contracts and vulnerability detection experiments.A subset of examples of the chain of thought for a selected sample of contracts.
