Abstract

We estimated ground deformation on the southeastern flank of Mount Etna during a period of volcanic quiescence by analyzing GPS data from both a deflation and an inflation episode within the same volcanic cycle (2004–2006). The original GPS data are available in Bonforte et al. (2008).This dataset includes the estimated ground deformation fields, along with a topography file of the volcanic area. The displacement data was processed as follows:Retrieving the original deflation-inflation datasets from Bonforte et al. (2008)Matching locations across episodesRemoving zero-displacement point and merging the datasetsFiltering the displacement data by rangeIsolating data points on the southeastern flank of the volcanoConverting the remaining points to a Cartesian coordinate system
