Abstract

This study investigated the effect of changing limb angulation between an early and a mid-stance joint angle configuration, combined with either rigid femoral fixation or using a system that retained flexion/extension movement at the level of the proximal femur. Constructs were tested under axial loads of 10%, 20% and 30% of body weight axial loads. The quadriceps and gastrocnemius muscles were simulated with load cells and turnbuckles, and load cell outputs normalized to body weight. Data are provided for analysis using a repeated measures model.
