Abstract

This dataset contains the complete set of high-resolution poster stimuli used in the eye-tracking experiment investigating how scientific poster design influences visual attention. A total of fifteen A0-sized scientific posters were created based on an initial template and systematically manipulated across three experimental conditions: Margin-spacing, Figure-ratio, and Text-density.Each condition includes five poster variants representing progressive levels of the corresponding design parameter (Sparse, Light, Moderate, Dense, Overloaded).Margin-spacing posters vary margins around text blocks (6.1–0.0 cm) while holding Figure-ratio and Text-density constant.Figure-ratio posters manipulate the proportion of figure area (0.00–1.00) while keeping Text-density and Margin-spacing constant.Text-density posters vary word density (0.03–0.19 words/cm²) with fixed Figure-ratio and Margin-spacing.All posters share the same overall structure (title, author information, introduction, methods, results, discussion, references), and the textual content was generated automatically using an AI-based language model to avoid semantic-content bias. Figures used in the Figure-ratio condition include graphs and experimental images related to mastication sourced from Kumar et al. (2014).This dataset allows full reproducibility of the experimental stimuli and can be reused for research on visual attention, scientific communication, poster design, or human–computer interaction.
