A full-length mtDNA dataset for studying genetic variations across generations and complex family structures
Abstract
In this study, a nanopore-based third-generation sequencing (TGS) method utilizing a single primer pair was applied to amplify full-length mtDNA from 106 samples across eight distinct family pedigrees. The dataset contains sequencing metrics, alignment statistics, NUMT analysis, and pedigree charts to validate the method's effectiveness in circumventing NUMT interference and supporting comprehensive forensic identification.
