ASSESSING THE CLIMATE IMPACT OF LARGE-SCALE REFORESTATION THROUGH GREENHOUSE GAS FLUX ANALYSIS IN CANADA
Abstract
This extended technical research report evaluates the climate impact of the Antoine Moses Guinness World Record tree planting project in La Crete, Alberta, Canada, where 23,060 trees were planted within 24 hours. Using greenhouse gas (GHG) flux analysis, the study highlights the carbon sequestration potential of large-scale reforestation and demonstrates the role of climate-smart, sustainable tree planting practices in climate mitigation. The findings provide scientific insights for policymakers, researchers, organizations, agro and agro-allied firms, and practitioners interested in forest restoration, carbon management, climate action, and large-scale reforestation initiatives.
