Estratégia Intermunicipal de Prevenção, Controlo e Combate à Vespa velutina nigrithorax na CIM-Região de Coimbra

Vespa velutina nigrithorax management plan for the Coimbra Region. This study is the outcome of a year of monitoring hornet's traps distributed though the CIM-RC territory, the evaluation of historical data on nests distribution, and the technical measures applied to control this invasive species. These documents provide the future management recommendations and plans, as well as the scientific baseline for these recommendations. The strategy was developed by the Central of Functional Ecology researchers (University of Coimbra) in collaboration with the Comunidade Intermunicipal da Região de Coimbra, and it went through a participative process to receive feedback from Portuguese authorities and local beekeeping associations.
