Estratégia Intermunicipal de Prevenção, Controlo e Combate à Vespa velutina nigrithorax na CIM-Viseu Dão Lafões

Vespa velutina nigrithorax management plan for the Viseu-Dão-Lafões Region. This study is the outcome of a year of monitoring hornet's traps distributed though the CIM-VDL territory, the evaluation of historical data on nests distribution, and the technical measures applied to control this invasive species. These documents provide the future management recommendations and plans, as well as the scientific baseline for these recommendations. The strategy was developed by the Central of Functional Ecology researchers (University of Coimbra) in collaboration with the Comunidade Intermunicipal de Viseu Dão Lafões, and it went through a participative process to receive feedback from Portuguese authorities and local beekeeping associations.
