PHI-base 5 is a gene-centric web portal for exploring experimentally validated pathogen–host interactions, focusing on virulence, effector and first host-target genes across a broad range of pathogens and hosts. The resource integrates enhanced search and visualisation tools with the PHI-Canto community curation platform to support FAIR, community-driven discovery of medically and agronomically important genes.
