A proxy method to bridge LCA data gaps using automated material classification and probabilistic under-specification, Figure 2. Taxonomic classification of chemical entities with life cycle inventory (LCI) data available in the Federal LCA Commons. Materials and chemicals were classified using ClassyFire, and process LCIs were used to construct product systems and evaluate LCIA impacts using OpenLCA.
