Analisis Kebutuhan dan Perancangan Sistem Jaringan RT/RW Net Berbasis WiFi Komunitas di Desa Terpencil
Abstract
Stable internet access remains a major challenge in rural and remote areas due to limited infrastructure, poor signal quality, and high service costs. This study aimed to analyze community needs for internet access and design a community-based RT/RW Net Wi-Fi network suitable for rural conditions. The research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 14 respondents from a remote village. Data were analyzed descriptively to identify internet usage patterns, signal difficulties, priority needs, and community willingness to pay network fees. The results indicated that 100% of respondents relied on personal mobile data, with 71.4% experiencing significant signal difficulties. Furthermore, 78.6% of respondents expressed willingness to pay a monthly fee for a village internet network. Based on these findings, a mesh topology-based RT/RW Net Wi-Fi network design was proposed. The system integrated bandwidth management features using Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB) and Per Connection Queue (PCQ) methods to ensure fair access. Additionally, the design included a community-based financing model with monthly fees ranging from Rp25,000 to Rp50,000. This system was expected to improve equitable internet
