Abstract

This dataset provides spatially explicit environmental suitability estimates for Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus across Southeast Asia under historical and future climate conditions.Baseline suitability maps represent mean climatic conditions for 1971–2000. Future projections are provided for mid-century (2050) and late-century (2080) periods under multiple Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs), capturing scenario-dependent changes in environmental suitability and their spatial heterogeneity across the region. In addition to absolute suitability, the dataset includes suitability change metrics that quantify both expansion and contraction relative to the historical baseline.Species presence data used to develop these suitability estimates were constructed by augmenting global mosquito occurrence records with regionally reported arboviral case locations, improving representation in areas where entomological surveillance is sparse. This integrated presence dataset supports more regionally calibrated suitability modelling for Southeast Asia. The dataset is intended to support reproducible research on climate-driven changes in arbovirus vector ecology, regional risk assessment, and comparison between regional and global modelling approaches.
