Abstract

This chapter presents a spiritual–literary meditation on Matthew 14:30, “Lord, save me,” examining the moment of Peter’s faltering faith and Christ’s immediate response. The chapter combines a theological narrative with an original Linking Pin Sonnet—an innovative poetic form developed by Joseph S. Spence Sr. that emphasizes continuity, connection, and spiritual leadership. The narrative explores faith under pressure, distraction, and divine rescue, using inline scriptural citations for clarity. The accompanying sonnet employs line-level poetic linkage with dedicated footnotes, modeling the integration of spiritual reflection and poetic form. This work is part of a larger manuscript exploring Linking Pin poetry, leadership theory, and spiritual practice through biblical narrative and original poetic structures.
