Abstract

Abstract— The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a learning assistant/companion is increasingly widespread in higher education environments and has raised various ethical considerations among students. Students' ethical perceptions of the use of AI, such as aspects of academic honesty, responsibility, and limits of use, play a significant role in determining the level of acceptance of AI as a learning support. This study aims to analyze the relationship between students' ethical perceptions and the acceptance of AI as an academic assistant. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to students from various universities and study programs. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistical techniques and correlation analysis to examine the relationship between ethical perceptions and acceptance of AI. The results showed that positive ethical perceptions of AI correlated with a higher level of acceptance of AI as an academic assistant. Students who understand the ethical aspects of AI use tend to be more accepting and use AI responsibly in their activities. However, these findings suggest that strengthening understanding of AI ethics can increase the acceptance and optimal use of AI in higher education environments..Keywords: artificial intelligence, as a learning assistant/companion is increasingly
