Abstract
This volume represents the Proceedings of the 2025 5th International Conference of the Society for the Advancement of ICT & Comparative Knowledge (SOCTHADICKconf’25), hosted by the Faculty of Computing, University of Ibadan, Nigeria, from 17th to 21st November 2025. The conference, themed "The Role of Applicable Technologies in Engendering Socio-Economic Development," brought together scholars, researchers, and practitioners from Nigeria, the United States, India, and other countries to explore the transformative power of ICT in addressing global and local challenges. Over the years, SOCTHADICK has consistently published refereed proceedings, and this fifth edition continues that tradition, adding to the growing body of scholarly work that underscores the society’s commitment to advancing ICT knowledge and fostering unity in diversity. This edition includes a wide range of peer-reviewed papers presented across three technical sessions: Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Data Science with Comparative Knowledge Systems. Among the notable contributions is the work of Olorunfemi Bolaji Asore, whose papers titled "Investigating In-Depth Knowledge of Cybercrime Among Nigerians" and "Perspective of Information and Communication Technology as a Weapon Promoting Youth Employment" offer critical insights into the intersection of technology, security, and socio-economic empowerment. These papers, alongside others in this volume, reflect the depth and diversity of thought that characterized the conference. The organizing committee extends its sincere appreciation to all authors, reviewers, and contributors who made this scholarly endeavor possible. It is hoped that the insights shared in this publication will continue to inspire innovation, collaboration, and impactful research in the global ICT community.
