Abstract

The plate lattice have promising applications in designing high strength-to-weight ratio structures with volume constraints. Compared to cellular structures infilled with isotropic unit cells, stress field aligned plate lattice structures exhibit higher stiffness in single load cases. This article proposes an optimization design method for generating optimal 3D plate lattice structures based on stress field aligned parameterization. First, the singularity separated parameterization is used to partition the model into the singular regions and singularity-free region, where a parameterization is constructed. Second, in the singularity-free region, a primary lattice structure is generated by extracting isosurfaces from the parameterization. Third, for the singular regions, a strain-adaptive lattice infilling method is proposed to generate plate lattice structures that enhance global stiffness. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our method in designing high strength-to-weight plate lattice structures.
