Structural Limits of Human-Centric Compliance Teams in Multi-Authority Crypto-Asset Regulatory Audits
Abstract
MiCA compliance is designed for system-based enforcement, yet most non-compliance originates from structural inefficiencies rather than malicious intent. Manual audit processes suffer from scattered data, inconsistent evidence, document compilation errors, and missing audit trails linking rules, triggers, and actions. Compliance officers spend 60–80% of their time preparing evidence rather than enforcing controls. VASP certifications are artificially throttled, further constraining operational capacity. Crystal Validator™ (CV) implements fully automated rule-layer architecture, providing lifecycle audit trails, cross-jurisdiction compliance, legally recognized asset classification, and real-time regulatory snapshots. By automating repetitive tasks, CV reduces human error, increases efficiency, and provides regulator-grade documentation that manual workflows cannot achieve. This paper details structural issues in MiCA audits and demonstrates how automated rule-layer systems assists resolving inefficiencies while ensuring compliance across global regulatory frameworks.
