Abstract

This paper introduces the Music Under Testimony (MUT) model, a framework that treats AI-generated music not as a standalone product, but as an evidentiary artifact one whose meaning, authority, and ethical use remain bound to the testimony that frames it. The MUT model proposes that AI-generated musical works remain non-distributed on extractive platforms and are instead exclusively embedded within paywalled testimonial essays. Using a case study from the author's Substack publication, this paper documents the MUT model's core principles (Context Preservation, Sacred Witness Authority, Anti-Extraction, Direct Reciprocity, Cognitive Sovereignty) and provides a practical methodology for implementation. This framework offers a necessary alternative to conventional streaming distribution, ensuring that the human behind the AI system remains the central authority in the creation and distribution of meaning.
