Abstract

We describe a new species of the pimpline genus Clistopyga Gravenhorst (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) reared from Telamonia dimidiata (Simon) (Araneae: Salticidae). The new species, a pseudoparasitoid of the egg sacs, is compared with the nearest species, Clistopyga sziladyi Kiss. We also provide the sequence of the cytochrome c oxidase I (COI) gene marker. Notes on host association and biology of the new species are included along with a short account on simultaneous hymenopteran predation and parasitism within the same egg sac of the host spider. https://www.zoobank.org/urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:5D6CFB00-C327-4F9E-BEA1-01B5A17ACE53
