A new pyrene blue emitter through charge transfer control
Abstract
To maintain color purity and improve device efficiency, the anthracene core of N9,N10-di([1,1′-biphenyl]-4-yl)-N9,N10-bis(dibenzo[b,d]furan-2-yl)anthracene-9,10 diamine (ABFA) was replaced with a pyrene core, leading to the synthesis of N1,N6-di([1,1′-biphenyl]-4-yl)-N1,N6-bis-(dibenzo[b,d]furan-2-yl)pyrene-1,6-diamine (PBFA). In film state, PBFA exhibited photoluminescence (PL) emission at 492 nm, which is blue-shifted by approximately 60 nm compared to ABFA. Moreover, PBFA exhibited a photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of 41%, surpassing the 28% PLQY observed for ABFA in film state. When used as a dopant, PBFA improved device performance, yielding a CE of 7.47 cd/A and an EQE of 3.59% compared to the non-doped device.
