Abstract

Data on gunshot-injured animals in wildlife rehabilitation centres provide information not only on species composition but also on illegal shooting, particularly involving threatened species and those not classified as game. Given the high mortality of these animals and the impact on the welfare of individuals remaining in captivity, it is essential to address these issues and investigate the shooters’ motivations, as well as explore additional veterinary treatment options.
