mineral dissolution and precipitation
Abstract
Reactive fluids flowing through rock often dissolve existing minerals and cause new minerals to form. These linked processes, known as coupled dissolution and precipitation, change reaction rates and flow pathways in the subsurface and are important for applications such as geological carbon storage and contaminated groundwater remediation.
