Abstract

This document presents a draft academic article examining a student-led Open Educational Resources (OER) initiative through a case study of UM Notes, a peer-to-peer lecture note–sharing platform developed by an Indonesian student organization at Universiti Malaya. The article explores the platform’s features, strengths, limitations, and its implications for open education and student engagement in higher education. The article is accompanied by a simulated open peer review report, created for academic learning purposes. The review follows an open peer review model in which reviewer identity is disclosed and visible to the author. As this is a mock exercise, the author of the article and the reviewer share the same name to reflect transparency and open identity, rather than anonymity or the use of pseudonyms. Both the article and the review are intended as educational and exploratory drafts, demonstrating how open peer review can be practiced and documented in academic contexts, particularly in discussions related to Open Science, Open Preprint, Open Peer Review, and Open Educational Resources (OER).
