Abstract

Abstract: This paper examines the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on cybersecurity, analyzing the shift from reactive, rule-based security approaches to proactive, intelligent defense systems. The research explores how machine learning algorithms, natural language processing, and generative AI technologies are fundamentally reshaping threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management. Through analysis of implementation patterns across geographic regions and industrial sectors, the paper identifies both the opportunities and challenges presented by AI integration in cybersecurity operations. Key findings suggest that while AI enables significant improvements in threat detection speed and response automation, it also introduces new vulnerabilities through adversarial AI attacks and creates substantial skill gaps in implementation. The paper concludes with recommendations for balanced AI adoption, emphasizing the need for ethical frameworks, human oversight, and collaborative defense networks to maximize benefits while mitigating risks in an increasingly complex digital threat landscape.
