The Transformative Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Cybersecurity: From Reactive Defense to Predictive Intelligence
Abstract
Abstract: This paper examines the paradigm shift in cybersecurity driven by artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, moving from traditional reactive, rule-based approaches to proactive, intelligence-driven defense systems. The analysis explores how machine learning algorithms, natural language processing, and generative AI are fundamentally altering threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and identity verification processes. Through examination of implementation across various sectors and geographical regions, the paper identifies key applications including security orchestration, automation, and response platforms, endpoint protection, and cloud security monitoring. The discussion addresses both the transformative potential of AI in creating adaptive security ecosystems and the challenges related to data quality, implementation failures, and emerging AI-powered threats. The paper concludes that while AI offers significant advantages in cybersecurity, successful implementation requires balanced approaches that augment human expertise while addressing ethical considerations and implementation challenges.
