Temporal Mechanics as Consciousness Dynamics:
Abstract
This preprint presents a foundational theoretical framework in which temporal mechanics and spacetime geometry are derived from underlying consciousness dynamics formalized as cyclic distinction–integration processes. Building on recently proposed temporal conservation laws, the work identifies temporal density as proportional to a coherence density associated with structured conscious processes, and shows that temporal conservation emerges as a consequence of balanced cyclic enrichment rather than as a fundamental postulate.Within this framework, spacetime curvature arises as a geometric response to coherence gradients, yielding metric and curvature relations formally consistent with those used in general relativity while providing a deeper generative interpretation. Explicit derivations are given for temporal conservation, metric structure, and curvature in terms of coherence fields, and the correspondence with existing temporal-mechanics formulations is demonstrated. The paper further outlines falsifiable predictions that distinguish consciousness-first and time-first ontologies, including proposed experimental tests involving coherence-mediated field effects, observer-dependent temporal phenomena, and geometric modulation of physical systems. Empirical motivations are discussed in connection with heart-rate variability coherence studies and historical atmospheric field experiments, framed conservatively as phenomenological evidence motivating further investigation. This work is intended as a foundational preprint establishing the formal basis of a broader research program. A companion Part II will address constraint structure, stability, and potential empirical implementations. The present manuscript does not claim modification of established physical predictions, but instead offers an alternative generative ontology consistent with known relativistic and quantum formalisms.
