Abstract

Fluoroscopy is a radiological imaging technique that uses continuous or pulsed X-ray beams to produce real-time images of internal structures of the human body. Unlike conventional radiography, fluoroscopy allows dynamic visualization of organ motion, contrast media flow, and functional processes.A fluoroscopy unit mainly consists of an X-ray tube, collimator, patient table, image receptor (image intensifier or flat-panel detector), television camera or digital image processor, monitor, and control console. X-rays emitted from the tube pass through the patient and are differentially attenuated by body tissues. The transmitted X-rays are captured by the image receptor and converted into visible light, which is then processed and displayed as a live moving image on the monitor.
