An Alternative Proof of the Quadratic Formula
Abstract
A structural derivation of the quadratic formula based on symmetric and antisymmetric combinations of the roots. Using classical Vieta relations and an elementary algebraic identity, the quadratic problem is reduced to solving a simple two-equation linear system in two unknowns. The approach directly exposes the discriminant structure while preserving full algebraic transparency.
