Abstract

Python version 3.11, R version 4.4.1, and Matlab2024a were used.1. Running drydown_identification.m to find soil drydowns and save the data; For example, ‘drydown_identification.m’ reads in ‘sm_19791983.mat’ and ‘sm_19791983.mat’ files to find soil drydowns for each pixel.2. Running SM_threshold_estimation.R to estimate the soil moisture threshold;3. Running Plot Fig1-5 to generate the figures in main text.
