Supplementary Material for: "Adaptive Manufacturing Systems and Information Technology: Drivers of Upstream Supply Chain Responsiveness"
Abstract
This dataset contains the supplementary material supporting the empirical study titled "Adaptive Manufacturing Systems and Information Technology: Drivers of Upstream Supply Chain Responsiveness in the Digital Era". The research, grounded in the Contingent Resource-Based View (CRBV), examines the partial mediating role of Information Technology (IT) in the relationship between Adaptive Manufacturing Systems (AMS) and Upstream Supply Chain Responsiveness (USCR), moderated by Manufacturing Process Characterization of Plants (MPCP) factors. Data are drawn from the High Performance Manufacturing (HPM) project, a multi-country survey of 330 manufacturing plants across 16 countries.Contents:Tables S1–S3: Measurement items, first- and second-order CFA results, reliability (Cronbach’s alpha, composite reliability), and validity statistics (AVE, factor loadings) for AMS components (Reconfigurable Manufacturing Systems practices and Adaptable Capabilities scales).Tables S4–S5: Measurement items, first- and second-order CFA results, reliability, and validity statistics for Information Technology (IT) scales in the Industry 4.0 context.Table S6: Measurement items, first-order CFA results, reliability, and validity statistics for Upstream Supply Chain Responsiveness (USCR).Tables S7–S8: Discriminant validity matrices (Fornell–Larcker criterion and Heterotrait–Monotrait ratio).Annex: Detailed description of sample selection, data collection procedures, and questionnaire design in the HPM international project. These files provide full transparency on measurement scales, validity tests, and data sources for replication and review. Keywords: Adaptive Manufacturing Systems, Industry 4.0, Supply Chain Responsiveness, Structural Equation Modeling, Contingent Resource-Based View.
