Abstract
AbstractThe Military University Hospital of Oran faces critical challenges in ensuring the quality and safety of healthcare services while safeguarding the environment from contamination risks. The management of medical waste represents a major concern, requiring the implementation of rigorous, systematic hygiene and preventive measures. Ensuring optimal patient care under safe and efficient conditions remains the hospital's primary priority.Another pressing challenge lies in the continuous training and professional development of medical and paramedical staff. While the hospital boasts a highly skilled workforce—including physicians, nurses, medical technicians, and administrators—there is an urgent need to advance paramedical education (nursing, medical imaging, midwifery, hospital management) and to promote academic research. Structured support, methodological guidance, and coordination mechanisms have been reinforced to optimize the hospital’s academic and clinical functions.Equally important is the adherence to patient safety regulations, medical ethics, and patient rights. Ethical vigilance must guide every clinical decision and care practice, reflecting the foundational principles of medicine as both charity and compassion. Upholding these values ensures that patient-centered care remains at the heart of hospital activity. Keywords: Healthcare quality, patient safety, medical waste management, hospital hygiene, paramedical education, medical ethics, clinical research, Military University Hospital.
